Welcome to our website! We are a Celtic duo - Dan Ringrose (vocals, guitar) and Jeanne Freeman (fiddle, harmony vocals). We play and sing traditional Irish and Celtic music, with a touch of contemporary folk thrown in for good measure, including original songs and tunes.
Ringrose, Freeman & Friends, featured in "An Evening Of Irish Music"
Celtic music is fun! We are passionate about it and love to bring people a good time and get them clapping and singing. We play in all kinds of venues, large and small, sometimes joined by other musical friends (and even step dancers). We generally incorporate some stories, humor, and even poetry into our shows, and were recently featured on Connecticut Public Television. Please read on for a few words about us, and you can hear some music clips below.
"Fiddler extraordinaire Jeanne Freeman ...a casual virtuosity...the music is light, airy, and fun, and...really, really ...fabulous...the overall effect is just about perfect...guitarist Danny Ringrose showcases a stunning voice in a duet that demonstrates why he and Freeman often perform as a duo...." -- The Fretboard Journal
"Jeanne Freeman…set an enviable standard …Danny Ringrose….sang... a fitting finale for a memorable night of music…" -- Earle Hitchner (Wall Street Journal, Irish Echo)
"The atmosphere was buoyant, the Guinness flowed, and the audience's appreciation displayed by its standing ovation." -- Robert Smith, Ph.D., Director of University of Saint Joseph Arts Center
What's Coming Up:
What's NewHappy New Year for 2015! We had a good year - Jeanne released her solo CD, "The Fiddler You Are", which features Danny on some tracks. In July, Danny hosted hosted his annual weekend Vermont getaway at the Inn at Long Trail, and we had a lot of good events and music together along the way, including the Greater Hartford Irish Festival, teaching at the CT Academy of Irish Music, and much more, capping off with 2 shows at First Night Hartford on New Year's Eve. Looking forward to more good things this year - we'll do a concert at Ireland's Great Hunger Museum on March 5, followed by the 10th Annual Saint Patrick's Celebration at the University of Saint Joseph on March 8, and lots more things - please check our schedule page for all the latest details. Thanks as always to everyone for your support.
